Tentazione

Just finished reading the book 'The Devil and Miss Prym' by Paulo Coelho. Ang ganda ng book, and story is very unique. It's about the village of Viscos, which had been subjected to a stranger's temptation, Miss Prym (a villager who has dreams of leaving the village to explore its outer world), and the stranger himself. The stranger, upon arriving in the village, carries a rucksack containing 11 gold bars and a question about the essence of humans. Are humans, in essence, good or evil? With this, he includes the whole village into a plot which will change the way they see life. So, basically it's a novel about temptation. So, ano nga ba ang real nature ng tao? Are we initially good or bad? Well, the answer to that (from the book) is very unexpected. Galing talaga ni Coelho mag-rationalize. :)

The novel has very good characters and a well-thought setting. Well, what do you expect with an author like Coelho? Meron din siyang magandang climax, pero nasa bandang huli pa. Coelho made a very good job with this book. Hindi niya ako na-disappoint. Hehe... Medyo bitin nga lang yung last part. Here's my most favorite line sa book: "Anyone who loves in the expectation of being loved in return is just wasting their time." Awww... It hit the target. :)

For this book, I'm giving it an 8/10. Meron din kasing mga parts na na-bored ako, but nonetheless it's very inspirational (and spiritual, at that). Praise for Coelho. :)
